Fisgard Light House and Esquimalt
Harbour
One kilometer of open water from lagoon estuary to entrance of harbour, 1 to 2 hours
round trip. |
| Cruise by the oldest lighthouse on the West Coast and up historic
Esquimalt Harbour. This is an easy outing for beginning tourers with
moderate rowing skills. The 1 km of open water from the Lagoon exit to
the Lighthouse can be rough but the harbour is an easy and enjoyable 4 km of
protected water. You will be visited by the harbour seals, see several
different species of water fowl and if your lucky the family of otters that
live in the old munitions store on Cole Island. Take a lunch and beach at the
lighthouse for a tour of Fort Rodd Hill National Park. A great beginning
tour of one of most historical areas of Canada's West Coast. |
